The "Lelkierő Fiatalon a Fiatalokért" is a non-profit organization.
Our association's mission is to help young people, between 18 and 35 age, who have problems with drug, alcohol or any mental problem.
We ensure clients public/community services and councelling, party service.
Our workmates are professionals (one psychologist, one addictology counsellor, two social workers, two social politicians, one social pedagogiest, one social assistant, five district-nurse) and about 30 volunteers also help our work.
The seat of the association is in Debrecen, Hungary. We have an office on the Piac Street, where there are community services, social information and councelling for the clients, who have mental problems, addictions (now we have circa 100 clients). Our social workers work with persons, families, groups.
The other place is the Open Doors Alternative Youth Center is a really opened place, where the clients can use internet, play chess, ping-pong, games, there is a movie-club, many activities, and if they need we give them social information, help, without any administration (they don't have to tell us their personal datas). This center is financed by the European Union Social Fund, the most target is to help the disadvanteged young people social integration, building a community, and ensure them free leisure time activities.
The third office is the „Támpont Iroda" at the University of Debrecen, it is an information point, where we help for the student, who live with disability (impairment, autism, specific learning difficulty like dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia). We have about 100 clients there. We help them with specialist equipment what need for studying - for example, computer softwares, braille printing, dictaphones, we help them in travelling, they got extra costs from the university, if they need they can get care from professionals, and there is a note-taker programm too. We make this job with the cooperation of the University Mental Program. Here also psychologiests help for the students, who have mental problems (for foreign students also have councelling in english).
At the University we also have a mentalhygienic movie club, where the students can watch new movies, then they can talk about the interesting situations, problems, about their feeling with eachother, or with the professionals (every occasion we have a guest). We also set up sport days at the university, and and summer programs.
We have a Mobile Party Service, what is an outreach method. Our workmates go to the big parties, clubs in the city 2-3 times a week, and giving help for the youth. On the one hand our goal is to gain access to young persons who turn up at the places of amusement in the city and have not yet taken up connections with the health care system. On the other hand, we provide a free way to the Department of Addictology in Gyula Kenézy Hospital, in accordance with which we have worked out this unique program, in case there are health problems revealed.
The Mobile Party service is a complex multifunctional mobile contact point of model value, the aim of which is gaining access to individuals, groups, communities not available for the health care system, and also providing medical screening and complex harm reducing services to preserve and develop their bio-and psychosocial health.
This programs target group are the young persons between 18-35, either living within the Debrecen area of health care staying there occasionally, who are drug abusers but have not yet taken up links to the health care system Screening is also provided as well as a mobile chill-out service already extant in EU, to facilitate safe entertainment.
We carry out the activities as follows: the distribution of mineral water, vitamins, condoms, the provision of information on health care, the dissemination of leaflets, taking screening tests, taking blood pressure.
Our party service team work in Debrecen, but they also go to the biggest summer music festivals to.
Our association have good connections with social and medical orgranizations.
Our professionals take trainings (communication, self-knowledge, carrier training, problem solving) for young people, for student and for social workers. They teaching at the university, set up conferencies.
We have expriences in students practical training, every semester we receive 5-6 social worker students. Of course a professional supervisior help their every day work.
